Duncan, Swain qualify for LPGA Charity Championship

STOCKBRIDGE - U.S. Women's Amateur champion Meredity Duncan of LSU and Courtney Swaim of Auburn have earned spots in next week's LPGA Chick-fil-A Charity Championship at Eagles's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge.<br>

The tournament is hosted by Nancy Lopez, who lives in Albany with her husband, former major league baseball player Ray Knight.<br>
<br>
Duncan won her place in the May 3-5 event as the winner of the 2002 Nancy Lopez Award, which goes to the natioin's outstanding female amateur player.<br>
<br>
Swaim, of Sugar Hill, gained entry as winner of last year's Yamaha Georgia Women's Open.<br>
<br>
The defending champion of the Chick-fil-A event is Annika Sorenstam.
