NASCAR's Roush upgraded to fair condition

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - NASCAR team owner Jack Roush, critically injured in a plane crash, was upgraded Wednesday to fair condition and removed from a ventilator. <br> <br> The 60-year-old Roush was piloting a small plane that crashed into a lake in a Troy neighborhood last Friday. He suffered a head injury and broke his left leg when the plane hit a power line and flipped upside down. <br> <br> Doctors at UAB Medical Center, quoted on the Roush Racing Web site, said the car owner is able to communicate verbally with those around him, and will be removed Thursday from intensive care. <br> <br> On Tuesday, NASCAR driver Mark Martin, who drives for Roush, said his boss used a notepad to ask for the results of winners at last weekend&#39;s Aaron&#39;s 499 Winston Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway.
