INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA has hired an Atlanta firm to help it find a new president.
The Indianapolis-based organization Friday hired executive search firm Baker Parker to help find a replacement for Cedric Dempsey. He's retiring from his job as NCAA president at the end of the year.
Tulsa University President Bob Lawless is the head of the search committee. He says the NCAA picked Baker Parker partly because the firm has placed minorities and women in presidential positions around the country.
Lawless says diversity is an important factor in the NCAA's search for a new president.
