STOCKBRIDGE - Nancy Lopez, who announced earlier this month announced that 2002 will be her final full-time season on the LPGA tour, is hoping she has at least one more win left in her game.
The Hall of Fame golfer, who has 48 tournament victories, is hoping to add another as soon as this week at the Chick-Fil-A Classic, where in 1997 she picked up her last win.
The tournament, which runs from Friday to Sunday, will be her first since the April 15 death of her father, Domingo, who passed away after a long illness.
The 45-year-old Lopez got some good news last week when she was offered a special exemption by the United States Golf Association to play in the U.S. Women's Open July 4-7 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Last year Lopez was not invited, and tried unsuccessfully to qualify.
