FAYETTEVILLE - Dan T. Cathy, the president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A Inc., was burned Monday night while clearing brush at his home.
Cathy, 49, was in stable condition Tuesday in the burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He was expected to be released later this week, company spokesman Jerry Johnston said.
Other details of the accident were not immediately available.
Cathy's father, Truett S. Cathy, established the privately held chicken restaurant chain in 1946, which has grown to 34 states and the District of Columbia.
The company requires franchise owners to close on Sunday, following Cathy's beliefs.
