CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson coach Jim Davis had surgery for prostate cancer Monday and a school spokesman said the operation went well.
Davis, 55, had tests last week that showed the cancer was localized, Clemson athletic spokesman Sam Blackman said. Davis will remain at Duke University Medical Center, where the 5.5-hour procedure took place, the rest of the week.
``He's expected to make a full recovery,'' Blackman said.
Blackman said Davis rested well Monday night and was sitting up Tuesday morning. ``So that's a good sign,'' Blackman said
Davis has coached at Clemson the past 15 years, making the NCAA tournament 14 times. He has a record of 316-150 with the Lady Tigers.
