U.S. Navy helicopter crew members presumed dead; search called off

ROME - The U.S. Navy has called off the search for three crew members, including one Georgian, on a Navy helicopter that crashed into the Mediterranean and said they are presumed dead. <br> <br> They were identified as 27-year-old Lieutenant Terri Sue Fussner of Manchester, Missouri; 34-year-old Lieutenant Wayne Francis Roberts of Brooklyn, New York; and 21-year-old Petty Officer Second Class Jason Edward Lawson of Smyrna, Georgia. <br> <br> The 24-hour search, which covered an area of one-thousand square miles, ended at 2300 GMT Wednesday night. <br> <br> The SH-60B Seahawk crashed off the coast of Greece while on a routine training flight on Tuesday morning. <br> <br> The helicopter was operating from the destroyer U.S.S. Hayler. It is part of Helicopter Squadron Light 46, whose home port is Mayport, Florida. The Hayler lost radar contact and communications with the helicopter while operating approximately 80 nautical miles west of Greece. <br> <br> The Navy is investigating the cause of the crash.
