RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - A Roanoke couple Wednesday claimed the first Lotto South jackpot ticket to be sold in Virginia.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jimmy Tran and 27-year-old Cindy Tran won the $20.4 million prize and a one million dollar bonus for being the first winners in Virginia.

Jimmy Tran is a Vietnamese immigrant who came to Virginia with his family after the Vietnam War. He and his wife run a manicurist shop.
After he saw the winning numbers on the news, Jimmy Tran said, ``I started to cry and thank the Lord.''

They bought the ticket at a Kroger store in Roanoke on March second and claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Richmond.
The Trans opted to take the one-time cash payout so they wound up a little more than ten million dollars before taxes.
Jimmy Tran said the winning numbers were a combination of family birthdays and ages. They were 21-26-27-32-33-34.
Lotto South is played in Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia.
