Soldier killed in training accident in Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN - One special operations forces member was killed and another serviceman was injured Thursday in a training accident near a U.S. base in Afghanistan, U.S. military officials said. <br>

The special operations forces member, whose name was being held pending notification of next of kin, stepped on ``enemy ground ammunition,'' said Gunnery Sgt. Charles Portman at U.S. Central Command. <br>

The injury of the other service member was not considered life-threatening. <br>

The accident happened at 8:30 a.m., Portman said. ``We just don't have any other details at this point,'' he said.
