Hemophilia of Georgia to benefit from baseball fan

ATLANTA - Ray Miller is a big baseball fan. He also likes big baseballs.

Miller paid $9,000 for 130 giant baseballs that were used to promote the 2000 All-Star Game in Atlanta and then stored in historic Oakland Cemetery.

He says he'll keep one but sell the rest for about $450 each to people who covet the big orbs.

He also hopes to get one signed by all the Braves and auctioned off for his favorite charity, Hemophilia of Georgia.

The idea of the ``All-Star Ball'' promotion was for corporations to pay $5,000 for one of 300 plastic orbs and commission artists to paint them. But it never got rolling, and promoters didn't even cover the cost of materials.

Miller says they are a part of Atlanta history that he wanted to save from the landfill.
