Georgia state lawmakers see a new invention as a way to boost MARTA's rail service. <br>

Unveiled last year, the Segway Human Transporter, a scooter built for sidewalks, can be ridden onto trains and a bill to bring the scooters to Georgia is being sponsored by state Senator Steve Thompson of Powder Springs. <br>

But the scooters have some opposition from an unlikely source - people who walk - and lawmakers are working on some of the toughest regulations in the nation for the new invention.
