Braves trainer Dave Pursley to retire

ATLANTA - Atlanta Braves trainer Dave Pursley, who began his career with the organization as a teen-ager when the franchise was still in Boston, said Wednesday he will retire at the end of the season. <br> <br> Pursley became clubhouse man for the Class B Evansville Braves in 1951. He joined the Milwaukee Braves in 1961 as an assistant trainer and became head trainer in 1969, three years after the team moved to Atlanta. <br> <br> During offseasons, Pursley worked as a trainer with the baseball teams at Evansville College and Clemson University.
