MACON - A New York City firefighter has been chosen grand marshal of the Cherry Blossom Festival parade.
Lieutenant Richard Saracelli will be honored at the March 17 parade, part of the 20th anniversary of the festival.
Festival director Allen Freeman says the parade is an exciting and appropriate way to honor Saracelli.
Saracelli visited Macon last weekend as part of a program that sent 150 New York firefighters to cities across the country to be recognized for their service during the September Eleventh terror attacks.
