Victim's family upset over teen's sentencing

COVINGTON - The parents of a Newton County High School junior killed in an October 2000 car wreck were outraged at the sentence for the teen who was driving. <br> <br> On Tuesday, Superior Court Judge Samuel Ozburn sentenced Jennifer Kitzero, 19, to 30 days in jail, to be served on weekends, and two years&#39; probation. <br> <br> Kitzero lost control of her car and ran into an oncoming pickup after she and April Ledford left school to get lunch. She was convicted last month of four misdemeanor charges. <br> <br> Ledford&#39;s family planned to ask that Kitzero be sentenced to two years behind bars, the maximum sentence. <br> <br> ``What was my daughter&#39;s life worth? A few weekends in jail?&#39;&#39; asked Ledford&#39;s mother, Vickie Boudreau. <br> <br> In addition to probation, Kitzero must speak to area high schoolers on the dangers of reckless driving, apologize to Ledford&#39;s family and buy a memorial bench and wreath.
