Fishermen save Gainesville man in Lake Lanier

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man fell out of his boat while on Lake Lanier between Laurel and Clarks Bridge parks Wednesday afternoon.

Hall County Fire Chief Mike Satterfield says it happened about 12:30 when 42-year-old Michael Lance stood and removed his windbreaker.

Lance avoided being hit by the boat as it continued to turn circles around him.

Some fishermen eventually stopped the boat and pulled Lance out of the water while others brought emergency medical technicians from shore.

Lance suffered mild hypothermia, but received treatment at the hospital and was later released.
