Park to return to Winston Cup Series at site of last year's accident

HAMPTON - Injured NASCAR driver Steve Park will make his return to the Winston Cup Series at Darlington (South Carolina) Raceway next week. <br> <br> Park was seriously injured in a violent crash in the Busch Series event last September at Darlington, when his car veered out of control under caution and was hit by another car. He had to be cut from the wreckage and spent two days in a hospital with a brain injury that led to slurred speech and double vision. <br> <br> Ty Norris, vice president at Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, made the announcement today about Park&#39;s return at Atlanta Motor Speedway, site of Sunday&#39;s MBNA America 500. <br> <br> Park, who was not at Atlanta, was unavailable for comment. He successfully completed several private test sessions in the past few months under the watchful eye of NASCAR.
