Taylor County 62, Claxton 50

MACON - Brandon Little scored 15 points as Taylor County won its second straight state championship, beating Claxton 62-50 in the Class A final Friday. <br> <br> Taylor County (27-5), which beat Buford for the 2001 Class A crown, led throughout, building a 14-point cushion on two occasions in the first half. <br> <br> Claxton (23-9) cut the lead to seven by halftime and cut it to five early in the third quarter on baskets by Jermaine Wilkerson and Tony Hunter, but Taylor responded with a 9-2 run to push the lead back to 12. <br> <br> The Tigers, who hit ten 3-pointers in their semifinal win over Southwest Atlanta Christian, managed only three against Taylor County. <br> <br> The Vikings, who got 12 points from Joffre Turner and 11 from Alvin Daniels, matched their biggest lead with a 6-0 run to make it 47-33, and again when Little&#39;s 3-pointer made it 50-36. <br> <br> Jermaine Wilkerson scored 16 points for Claxton and Carl James added 13.
