Collins Hill beats Meadowcreek for AAAAA girls title

MACON - Dani Kubik scored 26 points and Collins Hill became the first team in 11 years to repeat as state champion in the state&#39;s largest classification, beating Meadowcreek 58-42 Saturday in the Class AAAAA girls state championship. <br> <br> Kubik, an Auburn signee, scored 17 points in the second half as Collins Hill (31-2) expanded on a six-point halftime lead and turned the game into a runaway by the early stages of the fourth quarter. <br> <br> Morrow was the last team to win consecutive championships, taking its third straight Class AAAA crown in 1991. Georgia expanded to five classes in 2000. <br> <br> Meadowcreek&#39;s only lead came at 20-18 in the second period after back-to-back field goals by Amber Holt, but the Lady Eagles closed the quarter with an 8-0 run and steadily increased the margin throughout the second half. The biggest lead came at 53-34 after two free throws by Melissa Woods. <br> <br> Stacy Booker added 13 for Collins Hill, while Meadowcreek (24-6) got 14 from Fana Walcott and 12 from Holt.
