BRUNSWICK - Officials are planning to resume the search Sunday for a crewmember still missing after a helicopter went down in the Atlantic ocean.
The Marine Corps rescue helicopter went down Saturday morning trying to rescue passengers from a civilian helicopter that crashed the night before.
Four of the five crewmen aboard the Marine helicopter were rescued by a Coast Guard cutter that responded.
The Marines say the Beaufort, South Carolina-based military helicopter went down 35 miles east of Brunswick. The crew was trying to find an occupant of a helicopter that crashed into the ocean Friday night.
Both occupants of the civilian helicopter died.
Authorities say the civilians were working for the Marines doing maintenance on ocean microwave towers. The towers are part of a flight recording system used for tactical aircrew.
One of the four Marines rescued was injured and taken to Memorial Health University Center in Savannah. Authorities say he is in good condition.
None of the names have been released.
