JACKSON, TENNESSEE - Edmarie Lumbsley scored 15 points Thursday morning as Mobile beat Shorter in the first round of the NAIA Division One women's tournament. <br>

Mobile (30-5) never trailed in its first tournament appearance in nine years. The Lady Rams led 33-27 at halftime and opened the second half with a 12-5 run. Jessica Barber hit back-to-back shots to end the run and put Mobile ahead 45-32. <br>

Shorter (21-11) was held to 29 percent shooting from the field and just 18 percent from behind the three-point line. The Lady Hawks were out-rebounded 41-29 as Mobile got two and three shots on every possession. <br>

Lumbsley's free throw with 2:46 left put Mobile ahead 63-43. She hit 5-of-7 from the field and 5-of-6 of her free throws. <br>

Shanelle Stallworth scored 14 points and had eight rebounds for Mobile. Jessica Barber had 12 points, and Trevor Chandler added ten. <br>

Tramaine Paul led Shorter with a game-high 20 points and ten rebounds. Kerri Sparks and Jasmine Benson each had ten points.
