PITTSBURGH - Third-team All-American Brandon Knight had 17 points while directing third-seed Pittsburgh past Central Connecticut State 71-54 in an NCAA South Regional game Friday. Knight also had nine assists and five steals in a performance that sparked the Panthers into a second-round game against either California or cross-state rival Pennsylvania. <br>

The victory in Pittsburgh's first NCAA game in eleven years lifts the Panthers to 28-5 on the year. <br>

Northeast Conference player of the year Corsley Edwards had 16 points for the Blue Devils. <br>

Central Connecticut's season ends with a 27-5 ledger.
