KISSIMMEE - The Atlanta Braves are off Tuesday, their first and only off-day of the spring.
Outfielder George Lombard, making a strong push for a spot on the 25-man roster, could be out at least a week after straining his right calf running out a grounder in yesterday's scoreless tie with St. Louis. If the recovery takes longer, he might wind up on the disabled list for opening day. Lombard is batting .341 (14-of-41) this spring.
Despite Tuesday's off-day, starter Kevin Millwood couldn't enjoy it. He was set to pitch against minor leaguers at Disney's Wide World of Sports to maintain his regular turn in the rotation.
