SAVANNAH - Savannah State football coach Bill Davis, who led the Tigers to more wins than any coach in school history, died at 60. <br>

Davis' son discovered his body Saturday night, school spokesman Lee Pearson said Sunday. Authorities had not determined the cause or exact time of death, he said. <br>

Davis coahed Savannah State from 1986-92, compiling a record of 49-24. He returned to coach the Tigers eight years later, leading them to records of 2-8 in 2000 and 2-7 in 2001. <br>

Before coming to Savannah State, Davis coached South Carolina State, registering a record 53 wins there. He also coached at Tennessee State and Johnson C. Smith. <br>
