CANTON - A Cherokee High School baseball coach will not face disciplinary action in connection with the Jan. 22 death of a teen who was fatally injured when he fell off a pickup truck.
Joshua Reider, 15, died while helping teammates move lockers for the baseball team in January. He fell out of a truck at Boling Park, near the high school.
School district officials decided Monday that the accident did not warrant disciplinary action against baseball coach Mike Collins. Reider was moving the lockers at Collins' request.
The driver of the pickup truck, Zachary Alan Cochran, 17, of Holly Springs, has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide.
