ATLANTA - Willard Scissum was hired Tuesday as the football coach at Morehouse, a Division II school coming off an 8-2 season. <br>

Scissum, a former assistant at Morehouse, replaces Anthony Jones, who left to coach Alabama A&M. <br>

``This is fantastic,'' Scissum said. ``It's a blessing. This is where I'm supposed to be.'' <br>
<br>
Scissum was an assistant at Morehouse from 1998-00, serving as offensive line coach and strength and conditioning coordinator. He was the offensive coordinator at Morris Brown last year. <br>
<br>
Scissum started on the offensive line at Alabama under Bear Bryant. He played a season in the NFL with Washington in 1987.
