Man stabs woman in her home; police shoot suspect in face

ATLANTA - A man accused of stabbing a woman in her home is in critical condition after police shot him in the face. <br>

Police say they responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. at a northwest Atlanta home. When officers arrived, the children in the home said a man was trying to kill their mother in her bedroom. <br>
<br>
Police said the woman's attacker - who was thought to be someone she knew - had cut her on the throat. <br>
<br>
Police got into position and fired one shot, striking the suspect in the cheek. Both victims are being treated at Grady Hospital. <br>
<br>
The woman is in stable condition. <br>
