FORT STEWART - A sergeant from Fort Stewart is in critical condition after he was shot by another soldier who then killed himself.
The shooting happened early Friday morning at the 226th Medical Supply Company.
Investigators say Private First Class Craig Jones walked into the company orderly room and shot Sergeant Michael Santiago in the chest and arm.

They say Jones then walked outside where he shot and killed himself.
Officials do not know why one soldier open fired on another. Both men were in the same unit.
``We don't know what the working relationship was,'' said Lieutenant Colonel Dave Van Laar, Fort Stewart's Provost Marshall. ``We know that he knew him, but their exact working relationship is still under investigation.''
