SAVANNAH - Michael Wallace has been named interim head football coach at Savannah State, replacing the late Bill Davis. <br>

The 60-year-old Davis died earlier this month. <br>
<br>
Wallace played football at Savannah State and joined the coaching staff in 1990 as a student assistant. He was named defensive coordinator in 1995 and offensive coordinator in 1997.<br>
<br>
Under Davis, Wallace was assistant coach as well. This is the second time Wallace has been interim head coach. <br>
<br>
He filled the job for about two months in 2000 before Davis was hired to return to Savannah State.
