SAVANNAH - A funeral is planned Friday in Savannah for a man who operated one of the oldest black-owned funeral homes in the United States. <br>

Frank Bynes died Sunday. He was 85. <br>

His funeral will be at St. John Baptist Church. <br>
<br>
Bynes was born in 1916 in Americus and raised in Savannah. <br>
<br>
He attended Georgia State College and received his mortuary science degree degreee from Atlanta Mortuary College and joined the Army, where he worked as a mortician. <br>
<br>
He lived in Brooklyn, New York, before buying the Royall Funeral Home in Savannah and relating it.
