TELLURIDE, COLORADO - The 18-year-old Georgia skier who died after hitting a tree at Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado has been identified as Kathryne Ellington. <br>

Authorities say Ellington of Marietta, Georgia, was a beginner skiing on an intermediate run when she crashed on Sunday. <br>

The University of Denver student died of massive head, neck and internal injuries. Authorities say she was not wearing a helmet. <br>
<br>
County Coroner Bob Dempsey says two other college students witnessed the accident. <br>
<br>
Ellington had transferred to Denver from Georgia Tech last month. <br>
<br>
She was the tenth person to die in a skiing accident in Colorado this season.
