Two dead in I-85 wreck in North Carolina, were bound for Fort Benning

THOMASVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA - Two people are dead after a van rolled several times on Interstate 85 Wednesday morning in Davidson County, North Carolina. <br>

The state Highway Patrol says the van veered off the interstate about 9 a.m. about five miles south of Thomasville and rolled three times. <br>
<br>
Authorities identify the victims as Rhoda Branch of District Heights, Maryland, and her grandson, 18-year-old Dwayne Burks of Washington, D.C. <br>
<br>
The patrol says the teen and his 16-year-old brother were thrown from the van, which rolled over Dwayne Burks and killed him. <br>
<br>
Three other people in the car, including the teens' mother, were taken to Thomasville Medical Center. <br>
<br>
A patrol investigator says the five were en route to Fort Benning, Georgia, to see a family member's military graduation.
