Teen sentenced for beating, biting school bus driver

ATLANTA - A teen-ager was sentenced Wednesday to 2-5 years in juvenile detention for a beating a Fulton County school bus driver and biting her around the eye. <br> <br> In December, the 14-year-old pleaded no contest to felony charges of aggravated battery and assault charges stemming from the Nov. 7 attack on Lynda Clanton. <br> <br> Clanton said the student attacked her after she threatened to report him for misbehaving. An injury around her right eye required 17 stitches. <br> <br> Juvenile Court Judge Nina Hickson said the teen has a history of escalating violence. She ordered the youth to work toward a high school equivalency degree and complete a psychological treatment program while incarcerated. <br> <br> Successful completion of those conditions could earn him early release.
