ATLANTA - A teen-ager was sentenced Wednesday to 2-5 years in juvenile detention for a beating a Fulton County school bus driver and biting her around the eye.
In December, the 14-year-old pleaded no contest to felony charges of aggravated battery and assault charges stemming from the Nov. 7 attack on Lynda Clanton.
Clanton said the student attacked her after she threatened to report him for misbehaving. An injury around her right eye required 17 stitches.
Juvenile Court Judge Nina Hickson said the teen has a history of escalating violence. She ordered the youth to work toward a high school equivalency degree and complete a psychological treatment program while incarcerated.
Successful completion of those conditions could earn him early release.
