Fugitive caught while boasting on phone that he couldn't be caught

TICONDEROGA, NEW YORK - Authorities say a New York man who called police from Georgia to brag that he couldn&#39;t be caught was arrested while he was still on the phone. <br> <br> Twenty-two-year-old Michael LaRock of Ticonderoga, New York, is in the Essex County jail without bail after having been a fugitive for a year. <br> <br> LaRock was indicted on burglary charges in January 2001. Police said LaRock fled the area after being charged with stealing from a motel room. <br> <br> Police searched for him in Potsdam and Massena, towns near the Canadian border, where he has family. <br> <br> Police were surprised when LaRock first called on January 22 and bragged that he&#39;d never be caught. A caller identification system gave dispatcher Sally Downing the phone number. She then tracked down the number to an Auburn, Georgia, address. <br> <br> Meanwhile, Charlton called the Auburn Police and the Gwinnett County Sheriff&#39;s Department. LaRock then called Ticonderoga Police back. <br> <br> Ticonderoga police officer Daniel Charlton told the Press-Republican newspaper, ``I heard the doorbell ring on his end of the phone. I could hear someone get up to answer it. It was the police. They came through the door, there was a scuffle, and they subdued him outside the residence after a brief chase.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Charlton and another officer later drove down to Georgia to bring LaRock back to Essex County.
