ATLANTA - For years people have complained about the lines at driver's license centers in metro Atlanta. Lines have been hours long in some cases.
The Department of Motor Vehicle Safety hopes to remedy that with the opening of two new centers -- one in Cobb County and the other in DeKalb.
The two driver's licensing centers are expected to open by summer. Each will be able to handle about 500 customers a day. They will have 20 computerized driver's testing station and will be able to seat 150 people at any one time.
The Department of Motor Vehicle Safety has leased space for the centers in Marietta and Lithonia. Tim Burgess - the commissioner of the department - hopes to find spots for new stations in Gwinnett and Fulton counties also.
