CONYERS - You might want to tell Fido to keep it down. At least if you live in Rockdale County.

The county east of Atlanta is considering an ordinance to fine pet owners for allowing their cats, dogs and birds to make noise for more than ten minutes nonstop -- or for half an hour intermittently.

The language in the ordinance warns against pets that bark, whine, howl, crow or cause other sounds or noise.

County commissioners say it's a response to an influx of animal-loving residents flocking to quiet Rockdale.
Commissioners will hear from the public on Tuesday night in Conyers.
