ATHENS - The University of Georgia law school has created a scholarship in honor of the law student who was killed last year.
The Tara Baker Memorial Scholarship will be awarded beginning this fall to Georgia residents in their second or third year of law school, with some preference given to women and to students interested in criminal prosecution.
Baker was found dead at her Athens home Jan. 19, 2001. No suspects have been named.
Paul Kurtz, associate dean of the law school, said it is ``comforting to know the tragic loss of Tara will produce something positive.''
