Catalog retailer Lands' End says it expects higher earnings for fiscal 2002

DODGEVILLE - Citing stronger-than-anticipated January sales, catalog retailer Lands&#39; End Inc. said Thursday it expects higher earnings for its fiscal year ended Feb. 1 than previously projected. <br> <br> The Dodgeville-based company, which also sells its traditionally styled, classic casual wear and home furnishings online, said it expected earnings per share for fiscal 2002 were at least $2.20. The company had expected a range of $2.11 to $2.18 per share, as stated in mid-January. <br> <br> Analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call had expected $2.15 per share. <br> <br> Lands&#39; End said total revenue for the fiscal 2002 year was up 7 percent from the prior year. <br> <br> The company said it will release its fiscal 2002 results on March 14. <br> <br> Shares rose 2 percent, or 99 cents a share, to $50.96 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange. <br>
