LAWRENCEVILLE - Former Atlanta Brave Milt Thompson is facing charges of abandonment of a dependent child. Thompson is accused of failing to pay his ex-wife $45,000 in child support payments. <br>

Charges filed Thursday in Georgia claim the last payment for his two daughters was 835 dollars in January 1998. <br>

Thompson was an outfielder for the Atlanta Braves in 1984 and '85. He joined the Phillies' coaching staff in 1998 and currently is Philadelphia's batting instructor. His two children live with their mother in Lawrenceville.
