ATLANTA - Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis faces a second lawsuit stemming from a fight in which two men were stabbed to death following a party after Super Bowl 2000.
Lewis was charged with murder in the deaths of Richard Lollar and Jacinth Baker, but the charge was dropped when he agreed to testify against two other defendants, Joseph Sweeting and Reginald Oakley.
Sweeting and Oakley were acquitted.
Baker's grandmother, Gladys Robinson, is seeking $10 million in a suit filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta Jan. 31 against Lewis, Sweeting, Oakley, and two other men alleged to have been involved in the melee.
Last year, a relative of Lollar filed an $11 million lawsuit seeking to hold Lewis financially responsible for the fight. Both cases have been assigned to U.S. District Judge Marvin Shoob.
Tom Garland, a lawyer who represented Lewis in his criminal trial, said, ``There is no evidence that Ray Lewis did anything to cause the deaths of the two that died.''
Garland said he is not representing Lewis in either of the suits.
