Registered sex offender charged with attacking 7-year-old girl

SMYRNA - A man registered as a sexual offender in North Carolina has been charged with an attack on a 7-year-old girl who was picked up at a playground in Smyrna. <br> <br> Danny Wayne Broady, 29, was charged Friday night with enticing a child for indecent purposes, kidnapping, child molestation, cruelty to a child, and aggravated assault, said Lt. Keith Zgonc, spokesman for Smyrna police. <br> <br> The girl was playing with other children in the playground at the Madison Station apartment complex Thursday evening when a man took her to nearby woods. In the woods, the man removed some of the child&#39;s clothes, but the little girl fought him off. <br> <br> The girl was treated for bumps and bruises. <br> <br> Broady was charged following hours of questioning by police after his arrest at a restaurant about 11 p.m. Thursday. Smyrna investigators said they had found no information linking Broady to sexual offenses in Georgia.
