Theft charges against naval officer in Albany

ALBANY - A naval petty officer from Albany has been accused of stealing government property. <br> <br> Petty Officer First Class Chris Cochran has been sent to the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida to await trial. <br> <br> Cochran worked at the Branch Naval Clinic on the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He is accused of ordering surplus items for the base, but instead took them home and had been selling them. <br> <br> The items included camouflage clothing, knives, bayonets and swords. Investigators say the theft lasted about a year. <br> <br> Dougherty County investigators arrested Cochran last week after finding thousands of dollars of items at his home.
