WKU coach suspended indefinitely for inappropriate conduct

BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY - Western Kentucky's women's basketball team will be without its head coach tonight when the Lady Hilltoppers head to Athens for a battle with 23rd-ranked Georgia. <br>

Coach Shawn Campbell was suspended indefinitely Monday for inappropriate conduct and Marti Whitmore, a first-year assistant and former head coach at St. Bonaventure, will take over as acting head coach Tuesday night. <br>
<br>
Campbell's fiery style has drawn five technical fouls this season and he's been ejected from two games. The Lady Toppers are 14-11 overall and 8-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. <br>

Athletic director Wood Selig said a series of disturbing events and Campbell's conduct throughout the season forced him to take the disciplinary measure. <br>
<br>
Campbell could not immediately be reached for comment. A news release by the university said neither Whitmore nor any of the players will comment on the situation.
