Bama beats Georgia St. in baseball

TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA - Taylor Tankersley didn&#39;t allow a hit through five innings and struck out 10 in his first career start to lead Alabama over Georgia State 4-2 on Wednesday. <br> <br> Tankersley (1-0) left the game after 6-1/3 innings having allowed three hits and two runs. <br> <br> Alabama (5-0) got its run production from Carlos Sosa, who hit a home run, scored two runs and went 3-for-3. Scott McClanahan also hit one out of the park to drive in two runs. <br> <br> The Crimson Tide have hit home runs in each of their last four games. <br> <br> Georgia State (2-2) managed four hits and didn&#39;t score until the seventh inning. Stephen Burroughs hit a two run home run to score Josh Vandiver and himself. <br> <br> David Hawkins (1-1) received the loss. <br> <br> Eric Mennen closed the game by pitching 2-2/3 innings, allowing one run and striking out three in his first appearance. He got the first save of his career.
