COLUMBUS - A Columbus man has been charged with stealing more than 22-thousand dollars from the coffers of a high school band booster association. <br>

Forty-four-year-old Robert Bowden Junior was the subject of a three-month investigation over the finances of the Shaw High School marching band. <br>

The alleged thefts occurred between December 1999 and May of last year. <br>
<br>
The high school's marching band's fund-raising effort last year fell some 16-thousand dollars short of its efforts to raise money to send all 107 band members on a trip to Washington. <br>
<br>
Bowden was released from the Muscogee County Jail on bond.
