BRADENTON, FLORIDA - Juice maker Tropicana Products is recalling 100,000 gallon-size jugs of orange juice sold at Sam's Club stores nationwide because some may have been tainted with a cleaning solution.

Tropicana said about 500 bottles of ``super size'' Pure Premium Calcium orange juice, with an expiration date of April 15, were inadvertently exposed to a solution used to clean bottling equipment.

The solution could cause an upset stomach or mouth discomfort.

Kristine Nickel, a spokeswoman for Tropicana, said Friday the problem was discovered when a customer in Utah drank from one of the contaminated bottles. The customer reported burning in her mouth and stomach. She was treated by physician and not seriously injured.

Nickel said some other consumers returned the bottles after smelling a foul odor emanating from the juice.

The recalled product was only sold to Sam's Club, the warehouse club of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The item has already been removed from the shelves.

Consumers should return the jugs of orange juice to the Sam's Club where it was purchased for a refund, Tropicana said.
No other Tropicana products or sizes are affected and the product was not sold to other retailers.
