Cingular wireless invests over $500 million in Southeast

ATLANTA - Cingular Wireless today announced that consistent with its plans for the year, it will invest more than $500 million in the Southeast (Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas and Kentucky) in 2002.<br> <br> Cingular Wireless also announced that its wireless network in Atlanta, GA, garnered the highest rating (&#34;5 stars&#34;) for overall wireless network performance as reported by independent research and advisory firm Telephia*.<br> <br> <br> The rating is based on a composite score including quality coverage, dropped call and blocked call performance, as measured in July 2001. <br> <br> $94 million was spent last year in network improvements of its wireless networks in Georgia. <br> <br> Telephia provides data and intelligence to wireless carriers and other wireless businesses on voice and data network performance, market share, churn, media spending, pricing and customer perceptions.<br> <br> Cingular Wireless is the second largest wireless carrier in the U.S.<br>
