Kennesaw artist's painting on White House Christmas card

KENNESAW - A painting by a Georgia artist will adorn the front of the one million Christmas cards sent this year by President and Mrs. Bush. <br> <br> Zhen-Huan Lu of Kennesaw painted the picture of a Steinway piano in the corner of the Grand Foyer at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue. The painting has entered the White House collection. <br> <br> It&#39;s the realization of the American dream for the 52-year-old Lu, who teaches theater design at Kennesaw State University. <br> <br> Sixteen years ago, he was a recent arrival from China, who wanted to make a career of painting. He says artists in China could NOT make a living. <br> <br> In his words, ``All my paintings ended up under my bed.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> First Lady Laura Bush saw Lu&#39;s work at the home of a Yale friend of her husband and invited Lu to make a painting for the card. She selected the piano scene. It took Lu four months to complete the painting. <br> <br> Mrs. Bush will unveil the card Thursday when she gives the first tour of the White House holiday decorations. Lu will be there.
