ATHENS - The Southeastern Conference gave Georgia 2,200 more tickets for Saturday's Southeastern Conference championship game, and they'll be split evenly among students and boosters.
No. 4 Georgia, in the title game for the first time, plays No. 22 Arkansas.
Last week, students protested a lack of tickets for the game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Originally, they were allotted 1,500 tickets from the school's total of 15,900.
Only students who signed up for the ticket lottery are eligible for the extras, which will be sold Tuesday. The cost will be $50, double the cost for the first 1,500.
More tickets could be headed Georgia's way, too. Arkansas sports information director Kevin Trainor said the school doesn't expect to sell all of its tickets, and any leftovers will be returned to Georgia or sold to the public.
