The two freshmen women were attacked about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in their fifth-floor dorm room that is on the Georgia Tech campus.
A flier issued by police says the attack took place inside the Sparta dormitory, which houses mostly freshmen.
The dormitory is one of four Georgia state residential buildings that make up the Georgia State University Village.
Police say the man knocked on the door and said he was looking for a woman he thought lived there. Then they say he burst through the door and attacked two of the four women inside the apartment.
