ATLANTA - Energy supplier Mirant Corporation said Wednesday it is replacing its chief financial officer.
The news comes a month after Mirant announced it had overstated net income during a three-year period by $41 million.
Mirant says Harvey Wagner will take over the position on January 1. He will be replacing Ray Hill, who has accepted a teaching position at Emory University's business school.
Wagner previously held CFO jobs at several high-tech firms.
In November, Mirant said it overstated net income from 1999 to 2002 as it filed a long-delayed second-quarter financial report with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Atlanta-based company said at the time that KPMG -- which replaced Arthur Andersen as its accounting firm in June -- will reaudit the company's 2000 and 2001 financial statements.
